Borders

hold me down, put those bars across my eyes,
a lonely room, that's colder with you at my side
i've given up, i don't think it's worth it, part-time love on a crucial circuit.
So take them, take these hands and force them up my back,
lock me up, but don't ever say i told you that.

I think we've reached our borders
and our love escaped over the fence
things were said a million times but never meant

if you count all our summers
and give my bullets to all the gunners
you could reap what we've sown
and let me believe your lies
 build borders of your own

I used to think you were beautiful, in every single way
but you seem to turn more ugly by the day
with such diamond grace
i'm hoping you waste away
this empty night, it's not you at the other side
promises get broken, broken like us.

I think we've reached our borders
and our love escaped over the fence
things were said a million times but never meant

if you count all our summers
and give my bullets to all the gunners
you could reap what we've sown
and let me believe your lies
 build borders of your own

Why do we hurt, hurt
Why must you drag me back over, over
Into the castle, over your wall
Im on my knees with you so tall
Break them bridges, break them bridges
Burn those borders, burn those borders
Borders, borders.

I think we've reached our borders
and our love escaped over the fence
things were said a million times but never meant
if you count all our summers
and give my bullets to all the gunners
you could reap what we've sown
and let me believe your lies
 build borders of your own
